Capcom wants to develop a new Comic Book Heroes vs. Capcom game
Capcom is a giant in the fighting game world, with legendary IPs such as Street Fighter. In addition to these iconic works, Capcom has also dabbled in cross-border fighting games and created many impressive works.
After the huge success of Street Fighter 6 last year, which attracted a lot of players, Capcom has set its sights on another beloved franchise, Comic Book Heroes vs. Capcom, and has expressed its willingness to reboot.
In an interview, Yohei Matsumoto, the producer of the "Manga Heroes vs. Capcom" classic collection, said the development team was always eager to create new titles for the IP. "We have big dreams," he said. "Maybe there is an opportunity to develop a new Manga Heroes vs. Capcom game."
Capcom and Marvel both recognized the franchise's potential. "Comic Book Heroes vs. Capcom 3" was beloved by the fighting game community and remains highly regarded today. At last year's Evo Fighting Contest, the game ranked fourth in entries, surpassing hits such as Mortal Kombat 11 and Dragon Ball: Warrior Z. Mr. Matsumoto said Capcom hoped to continue to deepen the IP.
However, Matsumoto also admitted that it will take time to restart the series. For now, the studio is focusing on the released collections.
